A voice that's truly yours
Voice, like everything else involved in transition, requires time and patience. I don't believe, however, that it should feel like an arbitrary or insurmountable obstacle, especially when your personal safety and happiness are at stake. One Weird Trick is coming soon as an online course and book. It includes basics of voice pedagogy so you can understand your vocal instrument fully and keep it healthy; it outlines concepts like pitch, resonance, and nonverbal communication; and it includes exercises so you can build a routine of practice and work toward your goals. You'll also benefit from private one-on-one voice sessions in person or online so you can get real, human-to-human guidance and feedback about your progress from an expert.
One Weird Trick is not a quick fix, but an empowering tool to help you find a voice that feel authentic and natural at a pace that works for you.

Liz is a trusted resource for other voice care professionals and frequently gives presentations at voice conferences and educational institutions all over the country. Another upcoming project with co-author Brian Kremer, The Singing Teacher's Guide to Transgender Voices will be available soon.
